Farewell Breakfast for Fitch

Too many colleagues leaving the organisation. We had a breakfast farewell for one of our friends - Fitch who has since moved to greener pastures. Some pictures of the food I made..... sarnies, sausage rolls and blueberry almond muffins.

Tribute to Whitney

Shocked to hear about the death of Whitney Houston. Had her CD playing in my car.....great voice with a sad ending. Anyways, made a cake in tribute to her. A light pink vanilla cranberry cake covered in all american buttercream, sprinkled with confetti and stars! I love how this cake turned out.... the smell of butter was intoxicating.

MIA and the army cake

Yes yes it's been awhile and a number of friends had asked whatever happened to me? not blogging anymore? not baking anymore? still blogging and still baking just no time to do it. Have slowed down a little on the baking as my day job deadlines are closing in. Anyways, here is a picture of a camouflage I made out of buttercream and some paintball splatters for a kid's paintball party.

Courtyard Wedding Cake

I had the priviledge of baking a cake for a wedding at the Courtyard Garden. I have not been there before but when I went to set up the cake, I was like "not bad this place". Hope the bride liked the cake, Congratulations Ann!

Fairies

I love love love this cake. Was such a joy to make for twin girls. I hope they like it. I took so many pictures of this cake. The fairies could still be improved but I love how whimsical this looks.

Lemon Lemon

i had extra lemons at home and decided to improvise on some recipes for a beautiful, beautiful lemon cake which I will call "Lemon Lemon". Moist buttery genoise layers with buttercream and fresh lemon curd. Divine especially if you are one who love lemons.

Bake Sale 2011

My office held a charity bake sale a couple of days ago. Yes, I have been busy and now after the event, am feeling the strain of the marathon baking session. Some pictures of the goodies I had on sale. Cakes were very well received.

Lemon Cranberry Bundt Cake

So I had extra lemons and extra cranberries the other day so I decided to go through the many baking books I have to find the perfect recipe for these 2 ingredients. I found this one and was delighted by how it turned out. The texture, beautiful!~ However I still need to work on this cake as the second time I made it turned into an overtly dense cake ( sigh and to think that the second time round I used actual vanilla).

The Box

This was a cake ordered by a friend for her other half's birthday. Will not go into the meaning of the cake but put it this way, the guests "got it". Had made corresponding "kotak" cookies to go with these and apparently the outshone the cake. Sorry did not have more photos of this endeavour as I left my camera in the office. So relied on 3rd party pictures. Thanks Jean!

Office Party

Anything to beat the stress in the office. Every now and then we have everyone bring food to the office, this time was for a celebration of promotions. I made some dessert, Orange poppy seed cake, cakey brownies ( these were excellent) and some cupcakes. Dessert were finished by the end of the work day. Such satisfaction

Pastels All Around

These were for 2 different orders but for the same person. A bunch of pastel hearts which the bride took all the way to Taiping to top vanilla swirl cupcakes. So pretty. The stars were made for a birthday cake for one of her bridesmaids. I think it looks attractive eventhough there isn't buttercream on it. Love
