Fresh Lemon Cake

I made this cake yesterday but I forgot to take a nice picture of it before it was devoured. It was indeed a very nice cake, light, lemony and fresh! many gave good reviews and it shall be added into my cake list.

Attempts at flowers

So what did I do with the additional purple buttercream? hmmm tried my hand at piping flowers. I think I do need more practice on this but collectively, the cupcakes look pretty attractive, I think....

I was lucky enough to have two requests for "character cakes". One was for a cute 3 year old's birthday and he is of course a great fan of Lightning Mcqueen from Cars. The other was for a cake with a pig holding a rose in its mouth. Hmmmmmmmm it was definitely a lot of fun making these cakes!

Bananas!

Banana cupcakes and a banana loaf. Both topped with caramelised bananas and a drizzle of caramel. Definitely not for one who do not like bananas:)

As you can see I went a little overboard with the yellow and made all my cupcakes yellow. Love the colours! so cheery

marigolds

Not too sure whether these are to be accurately called "Marigolds" however when I think of yellow, I think of marigolds. nevermind about the name but what are these? The mini butter cupcakes topped with physalis, or some may call them gooseberries or red lanterns. A tangy fruit that balanced up the sweetness of the buttercream. They were well received!

Cookie Ventures

Over the weekend I managed to find wedding cookie cutters which I have been looking for for ages now. I bought them. Excited over the new find, I decided to venture into unknown territory i.e cutout cookies. These lemon almond cookies turned out fantastic!

Chocolate Sugar Cookies

I tried out a new recipe last night. Brought some to office and from the reviews, they liked it. Nice and a little chewy. I shall endeavour different colours and design with another batch. These are try-outs.

A whimsical wedding cake

My favourite, a whimsical wedding cake. I made this for a wedding over the weekend and the couple loved it! not to mention the kids present were very intrigued by it. It was fun!
