Shoe Fetish

I was asked to make a shoe cake. Had huge ideas to make a 3D shoe but I did not succeed in making it, the arch broke when I was assembling the heel. Definitely needs more practice. Thankfully I had already warned my friend who requested this cake for his gf's b'day. And I did give him my backup plan. Anyways, this cake was so chic with the 2 toned pink fondant. I absolutely love it.

Wedding Cake : Victoria

I was given a free hand on baking a wedding cake for a friend's cousin. The theme colour was a deep gold colour but I was allowed to use pale yellow too. For the longest time I was debating whether to go for a sweetie pie kinda cake - which I am always inclined to, or try something different, a more elegant cake. I came up with the design as I went along. Am satisfied with the results, especially with the gold accents.

Apologies my camera does not do justice to the cake.

Christmas Cookies

I have not been updating my blog too often these days simply because I have been very busy with loads of stuff. I am still baking but most are repeat orders so did not want to keep posting the same pictures.
A couple of friends wanted christmas cookies. These were so fun to make. Christmas trees and gingerbread men:) Love them! Merry Christmas to everyone!

Cupcake Queen - Princess

Yet another request for the Cupcake Queen with a princess theme. This time I made sure I packed it properly to avoid another disaster toppling. Sweet and nice for a 6 yr old's birthday.

Banana Tart

Yesterday had inspiration when I was baking some cupcakes. I had leftover bananas from the chocolate banana eclairs session so decided to improvise and make a banana tart!. Like the chef on AFC always say " The best recipe is cooking without a recipe" kinda forgot what his name is. This came out very yummy packed full of bananas. EB, hope Abah and Mama like it!

Who said cupcakes can't be serious?

Capital Markets? graphs? currency? bull and bear? hmmmmm............ cupcakes for a birthday at the office. I love these! This is exactly why I choose not to have a list of "set" designs. Always open to different ideas and themes.

Christmas Time

My favourite time of the year..... holidays and candy canes.. love it! As I had a few request for christmas cupcakes.... I decided to come up with some designs. I tried moving away from the dark red and dark green but somehow, was led back to those traditional christmas colours.... at least for one cupcake:)

Baby Blue Roses

This was a specific request for blue roses and pink background. Can never go wrong with baby pink and baby blue for a lady. Well so I think..... The roses are handmade by me!

Princess Cupcakes

So far I have managed to shun away from using printable icing images. Hmmm somehow don't quite appeal to me. I guess I feel that skill comes with getting the image out with a steady hand and some creativity with icing. Not through the printer. But then again never say never.

Anyways, just sharing some thoughts since these cupcakes would have been a lot more straightforward if I had gotten the princess pictures printed on icing sheets and transplanting them onto the cupcakes. But decided to dabble again into sugar scupting. Crowns, butterflies and stars + Lotsa pink = Juen's princess cupcakes.

Ben 10

Second installment of "Ben 10" cake. Although I have not watched the cartoon before, I absolutely love this cake. Apologies the first picture is blurry as I wanted to showcase the sides of the cake. This cake was for an order in Ipoh. Happy Birthday Danyl!

Baby Allison's Birthday

A friend from primary school who is now a neighbour was celebrating her cute baby's 1st birthday. Was not able to attend the party so baked a cake for baby Allison. There were also cupcakes as favours.

The Beach

The colours of these cupcakes just reminds me of theb beach. Happy, carefree and inviting. Definitely a keeper!

Rubber Duck Cookies

These were made for a rubber ducky themed baby shower. The icing was perfect this time. Am glad.

Volkswagen!

I did a test on a couple of friends whether they could recognise the logo and they did! hooray! am glad the volkswagen logo was successful.

Cuppies for daddy and daughter

Also a last minute request which I obliged.....cupcakes for a dad and daughter who were celebrating their birthdays on the same day! I kinda like its simplicity.

Cupcake Queen - bloom

A last minute request for Cupcake Queen with a sweety kinda design. The final design was excellent but was sorely dissapointed when I was transporting it today that it flopped onto its side, damaging the icing on one side of the cupcake. Managed to salvage it a little but it became less than perfect.I should have known better to recommend butter cake as it is strong and sturdy. Chocolate cake, with less than 24 hours notice is a little soft to hold icing and keep its balance.

Very sorry Anita! hope you liked the cake though.

I guess cake disasters are inevitable, so far have not had any major disasters. well there is always a first time!

Just for fun!

I had promised my neighbour to pass him some cupcakes (when I have an extra batch). His son loves the cuppies. So these are made just for fun with extra icing and since it was like 1am last night, I decided it is too much effort to take out, wash and change the icing tip, I decided to use complimentary colours all through one tip. The effect, dual toned cupcakes.
