Chocolate tarts

I had some craving for chocolate and I still have a load of chocolate sitting in my pantry, calling out to be melted and turned into something rich and luscious. Found the recipe for the chocolate filling online, was really happy with it as it exuded a deep chocolate flavour and the texture was something like a mousse. Love!

Mango Buzz

I am slowly overcoming my aversion towards making tarts and pies. Somehow I have this preconceived idea that tarts and pies require too much work, having to make the pastry, then the filling, then the topping..... but I have now found joy in making them. Have mastered the All American Apple Pie, here comes a Mango Tart which has a custard-y mango-ee filling. Topped with some angel flakes. Love it! would have been better topped with some pomelo. Darn! I knew I should have taken the pomelo my mum offered me yesterday back in Ipoh. Oh well.

Lemonee

As you probably noticed, I have been going through a "tart/pie" phase. Have purchased quite a number of books to learn more about this heartwarming dish. I was asked to make an apple tart yesterday night and I thought while I am at it might as well try out a new recipe. Some of my friends have been pestering me to make a lemon tart. I tried and this turned out fantastic! Definitely wakes up the senses. The sourness from the lemon definitely is an acquired taste but if you are a lemon fan, this is a must try. Delicious!

Banana Tart

An experimental recipe from one of my cookbooks. Although the orginal recipe called for rum, I decided to omit it at this point to see how it would taste with vanilla instead. Hope this taste nice. Some preliminary pictures.

All American Apple Pie

This came out delicious. It's even better served warm with a dollop of vanilla ice-cream. A new recipe I had just tried last night eventhough it was already past 10 pm.

Banana Tart

Yesterday had inspiration when I was baking some cupcakes. I had leftover bananas from the chocolate banana eclairs session so decided to improvise and make a banana tart!. Like the chef on AFC always say " The best recipe is cooking without a recipe" kinda forgot what his name is. This came out very yummy packed full of bananas. EB, hope Abah and Mama like it!

New! Apple Crumble Slice

I tried out a new recipe, it was meant to be an apple crumble pie but it turned out more like a slice than a pie. Nevertheless, it was brilliant! for the first time, the crumble was devoured before lunch by my colleagues. I too loved it! definitely for keeps. Manage to get a quick picture of the slice. yums....

Baby Blue

My friend was organising a baby shower. She requested for a cake with turtles on it. This was an orange cake with cream cheese frosting. Chose blue as it was going to be a boy!

Eggalicious

Sunshines!

Yummy egg tarts. This use to be my all time childhood favourite treat. Buttery and sunny looking, this never fails to entice people towards the simple custard filling and crumbly buttery crust.
