Cinderella Themed cupcakes

the "glass slipper"
the "ballgown"
the "crown"

A friend wanted to get this cuppies for his niece's birthday. So sweet. I love these! They look really pretty.

Black and White 2

Another request for black and white cupcakes. I think they look pretty funky. These are little mini ones with mini stars. Due to the high butter content of the buttercream, the buttercream will not be completely white. Although there are stuff that can be put in the buttercream to "bleach" it. Am not too keen on those. Rather go all natural and live with a little yellow tinge

Cupcake blooms

Had a lot of baking to do last night with a variety of cupcakes for some friends. These were made for a birthday. Blue and pink always is a good match

Cream Cheese Brownies

crusty tops, love it!
Cream cheese peeking through

I have not baked in a few days, well I did a dino birthday cake but yesterday felt like I needed to do something. Came home from work and went through some of my baking books. Found this simple enough recipe for Cream Cheese Brownies. Beauty of this recipe is, it does not involve creaming the cream cheese but simply slicing thin slices of cream cheese for the brownie. The cooking time was 20 minutes but I had to bake way longer than that. Am pretty happy with the results. Always like a "crusty" brownie as opposed to an overtly fudgy one.
wikipedia on "Brownie"
"A chocolate brownie, also known as a brownie, Bangor brownie or Boston brownie, is a small, rich, chocolate baked cake-slice, named after its brown color.
Brownies may contain dairy ingredients and nuts, particularly
walnuts. Modern brownies often have an icing, popular flavors being either vanilla or mint extract. A variation of the traditional brownie made without chocolate, or with white chocolate, is called a blondie."

Goodbye!

A "Goodbye" cake for a friend's brother who will be leaving for UK. I managed to stick onto my "cupcake queen" little airplanes on wires that were twirled to give it a whimsical fun effect. The photos do not do justice to the cake as they were taken late at night and boo hoo... my camera battery died on me while I was frantically clicking. Anyways, just a glimpse of it then.

Cake I love!

A blue engagement cake which I love! simple, elegant and so feminine. I had so many designs in mind but in the end settled for this design which I felt brings out the romance of an engagement.

Golf anyone?

I had a very late order for a 2 tier topsy turvy cake with a golf theme. This cake is definitely topsy turvy. It can be displayed in anyway. The cake was a rich butter cake and covered with pure buttercream. mmmm mmmmm

More practice needed

I was given the task of moulding a particular car. With a lot of excitement and being comforted by the fact that my husband is really into cars, I tried my hand at it for the second time ( first time was my husband's birthday cake). Anyway, from the front view I reckon it look ok but from the side, not too convincing I feel. Anyways, thanks Chun for giving me this opportunity to "practice". Hope the party went well:) The cake was a moist banana walnut cake.

Baby Blocks

My colleague's twin girls turned one over the weekend. It has been a long long while since I last got invited to a children's party. The girls were so cute! My contribution to the party was a baby block cake.

Flowers

Some flowery cupcakes as a "thank you" gesture. Had to show off my newly acquired cake stand!

Variation on the cupcakes

The best thing about facebook is getting to "find" old friends. I recently met up with my primary school friend. I almost could not recognise her after more than 20 years. She is looking good! Made some cupcakes for her. Nothing beats meeting up with old friends.

Ben 10

I was given toys from "Ben 10" screened on Cartoon Network. It is definitely a new cartoon as I have never heard of it before. I did a google on the character and wow! there was a lot of green and a lot of bubbles. This is a 2 tier cake for a 6 year old's birthday in school.
