Princess Cupcakes
So far I have managed to shun away from using printable icing images. Hmmm somehow don't quite appeal to me. I guess I feel that skill comes with getting the image out with a steady hand and some creativity with icing. Not through the printer. But then again never say never.
Anyways, just sharing some thoughts since these cupcakes would have been a lot more straightforward if I had gotten the princess pictures printed on icing sheets and transplanting them onto the cupcakes. But decided to dabble again into sugar scupting. Crowns, butterflies and stars + Lotsa pink = Juen's princess cupcakes.

Cuppies for daddy and daughter
Cupcake Queen - bloom
A last minute request for Cupcake Queen with a sweety kinda design. The final design was excellent but was sorely dissapointed when I was transporting it today that it flopped onto its side, damaging the icing on one side of the cupcake. Managed to salvage it a little but it became less than perfect.I should have known better to recommend butter cake as it is strong and sturdy. Chocolate cake, with less than 24 hours notice is a little soft to hold icing and keep its balance.
Very sorry Anita! hope you liked the cake though.
I guess cake disasters are inevitable, so far have not had any major disasters. well there is always a first time!

Just for fun!
I had promised my neighbour to pass him some cupcakes (when I have an extra batch). His son loves the cuppies. So these are made just for fun with extra icing and since it was like 1am last night, I decided it is too much effort to take out, wash and change the icing tip, I decided to use complimentary colours all through one tip. The effect, dual toned cupcakes.
Cuppies
I was given free hand to make some cupcakes for a 23 year old guy. Was thinking hmmm how do I go about this cause I must say my forte is really girly pastel-ly coloured cupcakes. I decided to go with kinda contradictary colours ( thanks to EB the fashionista who constantly drums into my head that "it's so not "in" to have matching colours". Well I think these are quite funky. Hopefully Adrian likes it!

Go Diego Go!
I had a call from a friend 2 days ago asking me whether I could do a cake of Diego. I was like who? Diego? Dora? hmmmm looks like I should subscribe to playhouse disney or nicklodeon or one of those to be updated on the latest cartoons. No more smurfs and silver hawks now just Blues Clues, Dora, Diego and Ben 10. Wow! I am so glad this turned out really nicely.

Cupcake Giveaway
I had such a "happening" weekend. Well, a lot of baking and also managed to squeeze in a baking class. Had a lot of fun learning and getting hands-on practice under the guidance of a pastry chef. Will try out the recipe one of these days and will see whether it turns out the way I want it.
Anyway had overestimated the number of cupcakes I needed so I had over 60 cupcakes extra. These were then decorated and brought to the office for a cupcake giveaway! It's always at times like this when I feel that I cannot bear to see another cupcake that the creative juices start flowing. Nothing is more relaxing than given a free hand to decorate and experiment with colours, in the comfort of air-conditioning and the telly in front of me.

Jayden's full moon
A lovely full moon pack for Jayden's full moon. He is lucky to have such a proactive mum who personally designed the cupcakes and the card. Sorry the pictures are a little dark. This was taken pretty late at night.
Movie
This was a sample cupcake for a movie themed wedding that is coming up. A request from a lovely couple. The swirls will be more refined as this was done in a rush and my other piping tip was used for other buttercreams. But you get the idea.

Fw: "Pink Love"
A first attempt at a strawberry chiffon cake. The cake is made with fresh strawberry puree and I refused to add any colouring, resulting in a very light pink tint on the cake. Remaining true to my love for the strawberries and chocolate combination, I had piped some dark chocolate ganache on top of the cake. Yums. This is of course for the office.
Elmo and Make-up
Yup... that is the theme of cupcakes requested by a friend for her sister's birthday. I decided to use royal icing to make the lipstick, eyeshadow and mirror design as opposed to moulding with sugarpaste, just for the fun of it and for its effect. This method gives the cuppies are comic like feel. It suits the elmos so well.

Corporate Cookies
I love these!! Initially the plan was to stamp the "thanks" on the cookies. Well it turned out, it was more time consuming than piping the words on the cookies. Simply because, after baking some of the letters did not come out clearly. Well maybe I just need more practice with this stamping method. Am happy nevertheless with the black words. I think it looks quite classy. These pics were taken before packaging.
So the post did work the previous time and am now thrilled! now I can even change the font with ease...... sorry folks, having abit of a cheap thrill here.
Gavin's Birthday
The deadline given to me for this cake was less than 12 hours. Nevertheless I met the deadline and am quite happy with the cake.
I really hope this post goes up as I followed some clever instructions my friend Shelley taught me since I have been having so much problems loading pictures onto my blog. Thanks so much Shelley!!!
