Vintage Rose

A twist to an engagement cake I made a couple of months back. Same colour but with some changes for a 70th birthday. The gold somehow gives it a vintage classy look. The flowers were requested to be multi-coloured. Well kinda, opted for multi shaded to match the lilac. Orange poppy seed it was.

The Cow!

A friend's son's favourite toy is a black and white cow. So a fun birthday cake with a cow theme. Love this cake! It was a cherry almond cake which is currently quite a hit.

Barney two

A request for a Barney cake. Decided to try a new design for the cake. Was quite happy with the design but the purple could have been a little lighter. Happy Birthday Katelyn!

Chinese New Year

This year I took no orders for cookies but I decided to venture into cake loaves. There were numerous request for cake loaves either as gifts or just for serving guests. Definitely and easier option than a whole cake. Easy to cut into small slices for people to taste.I made some carrot walnut loaves with cream cheese frosting, lemon drizzle, cherry loaves and chocolate buttercream loaves.

I do apologise for the poor quality of some of the photos, looks like I would have to get myself a proper camera soon....

Poochie

Cake for a dog lover. The daschund on the cake was really cute! hope the birthday girl liked it. I again am finding it difficult to rotate the pictures. Will settle with this for now.

All American Apple Pie

This came out delicious. It's even better served warm with a dollop of vanilla ice-cream. A new recipe I had just tried last night eventhough it was already past 10 pm.

A new recipe I tried last night with satisfactory results. A nice buttery crumbly slice perfect with a cup of coffee or tea. My friends and I had it for breakfast! A nice start to the day.

Perfect Muffins

I finally made it! perfect blueberry orange almond muffins.BOA Muffins. Moistness from freshly squeezed orange juice, jam packed with flavours of bursting blueberries and crunchy almond flakes. I did not take the cross section of the muffin, they are really good! Best thing is it is almost healthy with the use of egg whites and a little unsalted butter.

Daddy's Birthday

It was dad's birthday on the 1st January. Always a holiday for us:) Baked a rich butter cake covered with buttercream - dad's favourite. Decided not to tint the buttercream any colour and opted for a simple design. I like the designs I made for the sides. Gives the cake a little more character. Happy Birthday Pa!
