Barney cake

Happy Birthday Mishya Mei! This is the second installment of her Barney themed birthday. I reckon with this I can now put a tag for Barney cakes. This was also slightly tricky especially when lifting the royal icing plaque to the cake. Had to add the white fill ins so the design won;t break. Phew it was all ok.

Barney Cupcakes

Yes revealing my latest project, Barney and friends cupcakes. I do apologise the the poor quality of picture as this was taken at 6am this morning while I was still half asleep. Cupcakes for a special birthday girl. Decided not to go the sugarpaste way but to try create these characters on royal icing. Painstaking effort although the characters appear to be quite simple.....

Barney 3D

Suddenly a surge of cakes with 3D characters on it. This is a cute Barney 3D cake for a cute little girl. Happy Birthday Gwen!

Thomas the Train

I spent quite a bit of time on this train. It looks simple enough but getting it right so that Thomas is identifiable is not as easy as it looks. Anyways, this was a joy to make and I am glad it turned out nice. Happy Birthday Ben!

Bollywood

An order for a bollywood theme cake. I was given a sample picture to follow but had added some additional design here and there. Love this one!

Chocolate with Cream Cheese

A request for chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. As the chocolate cake is already quite rich, I decided not to coat the whole cake with the cheese frosting for fear that it may be too much. Very chic this one.

New Year Cuppies

Some cuppies I was asked to make for corporate clients in the corporate colours. Was happy with these, simple and nice. Not too fancy.

Fire Engine

A friend of mine had passed me a wilton fire engine cake pan to bake a birthday cake for her son. I tried to follow almost exactly to the sample given in the cake pan instruction sheet, just changed the colour a little bit here and there.

Aina's hantaran cakes - what a beauty!

I posted Aina's hantaran cakes a few posts before this. I made a base cake and she put the finishing touch i.e a few shocking pink gerberas on the top of the cake. This is a photo of the "finished" product. Fantastic! a beauty!Thanks Aina for the picture.

Little Baby James

We had a thanksgiving dinner for my nephew, baby James. These were the table gifts I made. Was feeling a little under the weather at that time so the cupcake was a simple one.

Karine's DIBO

This was interesting to make. As I seldom make 3D models I was given a chance to try my hand a sculpting Dibo. I must saw this was not the exact replica of the other purple dinosaur but I think it came out recognisable. Side profile nicer I think....

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to you!!! It has been a pretty good break back in Ipoh for the past 2 weeks. Had spent some time with my family which includes little baby James, the newest addition to the family. Cute little bub, good natured and happy ( most of the time). Anyway it is the new year and back to the usual routine. Sometimes routine is good.

Have been thinking about the past year and also how I want to move forward this year. I may be taking a little step back this year in order to move forward. I intend to travel a little more this year, enjoy a little more time with loved ones and live well. This means that I will not be taking as much cake orders as last year but I am definitely not going to quit baking so please call / email / sms me and if my dates are not booked up yet will be happy to oblige.
