Pavlova the Professional Way
It is the best thing to have talented friends who can work the camera. Anyway, I realised that food look so much more appetising when professional shots are taken of them. A lovely picture ( even I am feeling mighty tempted) of a strawberry pavlova I made the other day. Thanks Choon Ean! lurve this!

Spinosaurous......... scary!
Stuffed Croissants
Was in charge of "wallop" for my cell group meeting tonight. Due to my hectic schedule, did not have the time to prepare something more elaborate so decided to just stuff some croissants with, beef salami, egg mayonnaise and tuna mayo. Was a hit! all the way to my friend's house in Sg.Buloh, the smell of buttery croissants were calling out to me!

Trying again
Have been into making pavlovas these days. Why one might ask? cause it does not involve waiting for butter to get to the right temperature, I love the taste and the egg yolks can be used to make custard for trifles. So one sunny afternoon, tried chocolate pavlova and a vanilla cherry trifle. Both can be improved but definitely good enough to eat!

Indulgence
Dark Cherry Chocolate Trifle
Strawberry Pavlova
Passionfruit Panna Cotta
We had department lunch today at the office and I was in charge of organising it. We bought the mains from a few places and I topped it all off with some new desserts that I experimented with last nite. Was glad that everything turned out the way it was supposed to with a few areas that I can improved on in the future. If I could say myself, the dessert was delicious indulgence!

Cupcakes for the office
Silver and Pink Cupcakes
Love the colours. An order for pink and silver themed cupcakes. I did initially thought of taking the easy way out and bake those cuppies in silver foil cupcake holders but I ran out. Also, I was not going to run out to the shops to buy a stack of 100 silver cupcake holders for just 16 cupcakes. So we improvise. I had some silver dust and dusted the little flowers with those.
To be honest, I am always a little nervous when I am given only 2 colours to work with. Somehow there needs to be a balance, too few colours will render a boring and monotonous design ( unless it is just one design like a corporate cupcake, then it will look uniformed and neat), too many colours, hmmm the kiddies may like it but for adult cupcakes, a no-go, it will look very messy. So to give me enough "colour space" to work with, 3 - 4 colours is best and let me know which colours can dominate.

Rock Star II
Scary how fast time flies. Remembered making Noah's pirate cake last year and another year has come to bake this time a rock star themed cake with stars, notes, electric guitar and michael jackson's glove. Was told that the birthday boy was thrilled! A request for plain buttercream without colouring. This cake was fun to make

ACE of Spades
The plan is to have an Alice in Wonderland tea party. A last minute request but managed to accomodate an ace of spades cake and some corresponding "card" themed cupcakes. Would have liked the red to be more prominent in the buttercream but decided to play it down abit as many know I am not a big big fan of garish, too much colouring type cakes unless it is absolutely necessary. Anyways, hope the party is a blast.

Drum Roll
Some birthday cuppies for an accomplished drummer. I had made some sugarpaste drums earlier on in preparation for this order. I had a feeling that they were a little too big for the cupcakes and looked a little overpowering. Hmmm did not follow my gut feeling and went ahead. When I placed the drums on the cupcakes, horrified, they looked like they were going to topple anytime. Thank God I had time to restart the modelling process again. These "new" drums - so cute!
