Baby James' 1st birthday

I had the priviledge of baking my nephew's 1st birthday cake. It was a jungle themed party and had spent a number of days getting the animal icing plaques done. I love the cake and the matching animal print cuppies. The kids went crazy for it. Some pics:)

Hantaran : Sea Shells

A seashell themed hantaran for a good friend's engagement ceremony. Was a tight deadline cause she only got back from the UK a couple of days before the ceremony. I know in most tutorials, people are taught how to make seashells from silicone moulds but I did not have any. So had fun moulding these seashells from scratch. I think they look absolutely pretty. Her fiancee I heard did not want to cut the cake. I think this the shells looked nice with the champagne bubble piping at the base.

SPIDERMAN!

This cake was made in one day and it was not even a weekend. A friend asked me if I could make a cake for her nephew and I could not turn down a good friend. So here it is, spidey in a different style.

Puku the Penguin

hmmmm don't think this Penguin is very very famous but it is really cute. Anyone knows which cartoon this penguin is from? can't seem to find out where it is from but its image is obtainable from google. Anyways happy birthday to a friend's nephew. Heard he liked it!

My Little Pony

I used to love this cartoon. Although at that time I was too young to even remember the names of the ponies. I know I had a number of the toys and I loved them. Glad that they are still showing but I reckon now there'd be more canggih characters.

In the night garden

I have absolutely no idea who these characters are but they are certainly a unique bunch. They are iggle piggle girl - upsy-daisy if I am not mistaken, characters from "In the night garden". Happy Birthday Hannah and Karin!

Cinderella Wedding

I am waiting for the official photographs to come out as my basic camera could not capture the cakes as well as I wanted to. A cinderella themed akad nikah for a friend. She was stunning in her wedding outfit!. will upload more pictures once I get this sorted.

This was also the "opening ceremony" for my newly acquired perspex cupcake tier ( 7 layers in total) all the way from UK. I love love love it!

Farm animal themed party

Yes together with the rubber ducky themed cakes and the next post for a wedding, all cakes were done the past weekend. Talk about making full use of the time, the soles of my feet suffered the most, all that standing and running around only gave more money to the foot massage shop. Always. A farm themed party, I had quite a bit of difficulty with the royal icing, did not seem to set too well but in the end it turned out ok. The Hi-5 cake was for the birthday boy's brother so he too gets to cut a cake. How nice.

Rubber Ducky Birthday

Rubber ducky birthday cake, cupcakes and cookies (which I did not take pics of) for a little boy's first birthday. So cute! Heard birthday boy was unwell during his birthday party but he was a real trooper. Way to go baby Zain!

Hantaran : Lace

This is the beginning of an incredibly busy weekend. All weddings and birthdays seem to fall on the 10th of July. Anyways a hantaran cake requested from one of my faithful clients..... he already had something in mind so my job was to replicate and add in my own flavour cause we all know that all bakers have they own style and interpretation.....I absolutely love the lace appliques.

My Bollywood Elephant

Got creative with another bollywood themed birthday bash. Decided to put a gold elephant on the top an bought new cutters for the detailed embellishments on the side.

Fruit and Nut cookies

A lazy Sunday afternoon. What was I up to yesterday? Cookie Bakeout! made a ton of fruit and nut cookies for the office. Anything to make the Monday blues go away. These are fantastic chewy cookies with coconut, cranberries, macadamias, apricots and pumpkin seeds....... I feel better already...

Ladybug

My first ladybug. A ladybug with character I feel, I quite like the sheen that was achieved through painting onto the bug. Hope little girl Elizabeth had a good birthday bash yesterday:)

Spongebob Square Pants

I have to admit, I am quite entertained by this character. Who would have thought of such a thing, sponge under the sea? hmmmmm anyways, made this birthday cake for a friend's son's birthday. Happy Birthday Ariff!
