Baby James' 1st birthday

I had the priviledge of baking my nephew's 1st birthday cake. It was a jungle themed party and had spent a number of days getting the animal icing plaques done. I love the cake and the matching animal print cuppies. The kids went crazy for it. Some pics:)

Hantaran : Sea Shells

A seashell themed hantaran for a good friend's engagement ceremony. Was a tight deadline cause she only got back from the UK a couple of days before the ceremony. I know in most tutorials, people are taught how to make seashells from silicone moulds but I did not have any. So had fun moulding these seashells from scratch. I think they look absolutely pretty. Her fiancee I heard did not want to cut the cake. I think this the shells looked nice with the champagne bubble piping at the base.

SPIDERMAN!

This cake was made in one day and it was not even a weekend. A friend asked me if I could make a cake for her nephew and I could not turn down a good friend. So here it is, spidey in a different style.

Puku the Penguin

hmmmm don't think this Penguin is very very famous but it is really cute. Anyone knows which cartoon this penguin is from? can't seem to find out where it is from but its image is obtainable from google. Anyways happy birthday to a friend's nephew. Heard he liked it!

My Little Pony

I used to love this cartoon. Although at that time I was too young to even remember the names of the ponies. I know I had a number of the toys and I loved them. Glad that they are still showing but I reckon now there'd be more canggih characters.

In the night garden

I have absolutely no idea who these characters are but they are certainly a unique bunch. They are iggle piggle girl - upsy-daisy if I am not mistaken, characters from "In the night garden". Happy Birthday Hannah and Karin!

Cinderella Wedding

I am waiting for the official photographs to come out as my basic camera could not capture the cakes as well as I wanted to. A cinderella themed akad nikah for a friend. She was stunning in her wedding outfit!. will upload more pictures once I get this sorted.

This was also the "opening ceremony" for my newly acquired perspex cupcake tier ( 7 layers in total) all the way from UK. I love love love it!

Farm animal themed party

Yes together with the rubber ducky themed cakes and the next post for a wedding, all cakes were done the past weekend. Talk about making full use of the time, the soles of my feet suffered the most, all that standing and running around only gave more money to the foot massage shop. Always. A farm themed party, I had quite a bit of difficulty with the royal icing, did not seem to set too well but in the end it turned out ok. The Hi-5 cake was for the birthday boy's brother so he too gets to cut a cake. How nice.

Rubber Ducky Birthday

Rubber ducky birthday cake, cupcakes and cookies (which I did not take pics of) for a little boy's first birthday. So cute! Heard birthday boy was unwell during his birthday party but he was a real trooper. Way to go baby Zain!

Hantaran : Lace

This is the beginning of an incredibly busy weekend. All weddings and birthdays seem to fall on the 10th of July. Anyways a hantaran cake requested from one of my faithful clients..... he already had something in mind so my job was to replicate and add in my own flavour cause we all know that all bakers have they own style and interpretation.....I absolutely love the lace appliques.

My Bollywood Elephant

Got creative with another bollywood themed birthday bash. Decided to put a gold elephant on the top an bought new cutters for the detailed embellishments on the side.

Fruit and Nut cookies

A lazy Sunday afternoon. What was I up to yesterday? Cookie Bakeout! made a ton of fruit and nut cookies for the office. Anything to make the Monday blues go away. These are fantastic chewy cookies with coconut, cranberries, macadamias, apricots and pumpkin seeds....... I feel better already...

Ladybug

My first ladybug. A ladybug with character I feel, I quite like the sheen that was achieved through painting onto the bug. Hope little girl Elizabeth had a good birthday bash yesterday:)

Spongebob Square Pants

I have to admit, I am quite entertained by this character. Who would have thought of such a thing, sponge under the sea? hmmmmm anyways, made this birthday cake for a friend's son's birthday. Happy Birthday Ariff!

Baskin Robbins?

A different request this time for cake that looked like one of baskin robbin's ice cream cake. Same design but butter chocolate chip cake in the middle. I love how this turned out and hope the birthday girl liked it too....

Barbie II - pink and purple

Although I did not get to meet the birthday girl, I was told she was delighted with this cake. A little treat having gone through a tough time....... am glad I made this.....

Baby Love II

Attended a friend's baby shower the other day and had this huge plan to bake something different for a change but have been really busy at work.... and was too tired to bake the night before. So since I was baking a batch of cupcakes, I decided to just ride on it. My friend is not the sweety pie type so decided to move away from the pastels and try something different.

Missing....

Yes have been missing in action. Not that I have stopped baking but I have been so busy both at my day job and also with baking. Was busy baking for a charity bakesale last week. We were sold out in 1.5 hours, was like a walking zombie after the event cause I only had 2 hours sleep that night.

Batik

A request for a beautiful Indonesian Batik bra for a 30th birthday boy's celebration. I love this, finished at 2am but was all worth it!

Barbie

My first Barbie cake. The doll was supplied by the birthday girl's mum. It is another funky barbie with a masquerade kinda mask on. Another one that I Love!

Lightnight McQueen

Oooooo I love the colour combination on this cake. Love love it!

Mighty Morphine Power Rangers

Apparently Mighty Morphine Power Rangers is still alive.I thought they were no more but they are back in a more "canggih form". Anyways, a cake for a little boy's birthday. Blue is his favourite!

Pastel Cuppies

Apologies for the long silence but I have been busy with work and in between have been feeling a little sick. Anyways am better now..... posting some cakes that I had worked on the pass couple of weeks. A sweet pastel-ly one for a birthday....

Minnie Mouse

When I was a little girl I used to love minnie mouse and I remembered that that was one of my favourite toys when we went to Tokyo Disneyland. Well I don't have it anymore of course but it's nice to know that there are still kids who love Minnie, given the vast range of cartoon characters nowadays.

Same design Different Colour

Some cupcakes for a wedding. Some of you my be familiar with this design for the office that I made in pink and blue. A beautiful colour combination for a wedding and a rather unusual one which I like! A few large cupcakes with a chinese button on top. Wished the chinese buttons were thinner but that was the best I could produce this time.

Elmo!

A childhood friend's daughter just turned 2 and she wanted an Elmo cake...... had a good time making this cake, for the love of ELmo!

Cinnamon Nut Chiffon

Tried out this new recipe. the cake tasted fabulous but did not get a good enough picture to do it justice. A keeper!

Crown Cake

As simple as it looks this was a feat! especially when it is made like in the early mornings and I am not talking about 6-7am more of like 1-2am..... I made the crown earlier, I must admit it was experimental and I should have stuck to straight ages rather than curvy ones which were so difficult to maintain. The gold colour spray ran out on me so I had to paint the insides with different brushes but the effect was rather tarnish looking but I thought leave it cause it has got a little character. Overall was happy with the cake but will improve on the crown the next time. Birthday Girls were delighted!

Sorry the teapots are a little blurry but they were simple and cute ones. The dresses were dainty.
