Baby Onesies
Two "thank you" cakes for friends who had given well wishes on the birth of a baby boy. I was given free hand to do the cake as long as it is "baby" related. I always love onesies, so cute.
I sincerely apologise for the bad lighting as like the rose cake 2 post before, the colour is not great at all! pale yellow and pale blue are the colour themes.
marble bundt
a recipe my younger sister posted on facebook recently was this marble bundt cake. Was instantly drawn to it because the recipe was a little different from the usual marble cake. This turned out very rich. The chocolate part was incredibly moist, maybe a little too moist. Very tasty it was. Will tweak it abit to see whether it gets even better.

Ferrari in a rush
I had earlier planned to bake a birthday cake for a friend's son today but due to the activities that came up during the week, the moulding of the ferrari took a backseat until yesterday. I knew I did not have much working in favour of my car because usually the body of the car needs time to dry before i put on the tyres. Since I did not have time, I had to take the risk and put everything together. I think it does look a little like the ferrari that the little boy so loves but could be improved further. Certain contours I did not capture. I reckon I will be practicing car moulding when I have the free time. I hope he likes it. Happy Birthday Ryan!

Fruit and Nut Loaf & Lychee Butter Cake
I was pretty stressed up at work yesterday and decided to take my mind off things. Out of so many recipes that I have marked to try I decided on these 2, a fruit and nut loaf for those who crave for a burst of flavour and a lychee butter cake. The fruit and nut loaf is made out of a cinnamon batter filled with chopped apricots, prunes, raisins and walnuts. The recipe did call for walnuts but I had some pecans at hand so I just replaced it. Brilliant! this loaf cake was brilliant! moist and full of flavour. The texture, interesting, its crumb is not as soft as that of a butter cake, but sits well in the mouth. Love this.
When I was growing up in Ipoh, we use to have a fresh cream ( it was the rage then! thank goodness we had progressed from the disgusting oily icing)Lychee cake. It was light and fresh. Moving away from fresh cream, people becoming more health conscious are making a pass on the cream and more on the substance. This cake is interesting, light pink lychee flesh peaking through the butter cake. I think if you are looking for something different, this could be it. Will be fiddling more with this recipe. I have ideas.....

Confession of a shopaholic
Mango Buzz
I am slowly overcoming my aversion towards making tarts and pies. Somehow I have this preconceived idea that tarts and pies require too much work, having to make the pastry, then the filling, then the topping..... but I have now found joy in making them. Have mastered the All American Apple Pie, here comes a Mango Tart which has a custard-y mango-ee filling. Topped with some angel flakes. Love it! would have been better topped with some pomelo. Darn! I knew I should have taken the pomelo my mum offered me yesterday back in Ipoh. Oh well.

Sony PSP
My first attempt at cake modelling. Armed with numerous equipments from carving knives to paintbrush, this was interesting to make and am glad the way it turned out. Of course there are areas where there wordings could have been clearer but I think this is good considering it was the first time I was doing this.
Happy birthday Nasha! the owner of the red PSP!

Tea Lover
A fabulous tea loaf that can be eaten for breakfast, tea or supper. It is made with tea leaves giving the loaf a speckled look and a tea glaze. Almost feels like you are eating tea as opposed to drinking it. A keeper.
